We are a small badminton club consisting of only 20 members and it is based at Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur Sports Club, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Our once-weekly playing session is on Thursday evenings from 4.00pm - 7.00pm. The club has been formed about 20 years ago and the average age of our players is 50. The age of some of the players is well over 65 and that is one the reason why we call ourselves The Evergreen Badminton Club. Most of the players have been loyal to the club since its formation.
A very interesting aspect of our club is that many of the players employ a very unorthodox and unique style of playing. This can be seen in the grip of their rackets, their positioning at double play and their serving (some illegal, but who cares). We would make no attempt to change it as long as we enjoy the game. Afterall, we have no intention of joining any local league compititions , just an occassional friendly with other groups. |
